Pride of Guernsey: Guernsey Table Tennis Association Volunteers
VOLUNTEERS at the Guernsey Table Tennis Association have been nominated for the Sports Volunteer of the Year award, which is sponsored by Sure.
Table tennis players young and old volunteer to share their passion with others in the community.
Their nominator Stacey Bretel has said how they ‘inspire everyone to follow their passions and go above and beyond to make the Table Tennis Centre a welcoming and inclusive place to watch, play, train and socialise.
‘They give up hours of their time to engage with everybody who comes through the centre’s doors.
‘The encouragement they give to youngsters only just learning to hold a bat right, up to those that were able to win medals at the Island Games is second-to-none, and their results are testament to their skills and dedication to the sport.
‘My daughter started table tennis and loved it, and the volunteers inspired me and my husband, as well as other parents, to give it a go.’
