Waves visits Alderney to gather information

ALDERNEY’S airport apron had the look of an air display on Wednesday.

Waves air taxi service, already undergoing a ‘soft launch’ in Guernsey and Jersey, visited Alderney with its Cessna Caravan to make an appeal to residents to help them roll out the service to the northern isle.

Air Alderney, meanwhile, brought in a helicopter in company livery to be introduced for executive charters.

Waves CEO Nick Magliocchetti travelled to Alderney on the company’s eight-seater Cessna Caravan 208B to update politicians and potential customers on their progress and ask for their help in harnessing information on flight needs from Alderney residents.

Air Alderney, which will base itself in Alderney and aims to become the island’s new local airline, wants to operate flights to Jersey, Cherbourg and Lee on Solent.

States members inspected its Augusta 109c helicopter, which it aims to use for executive charters from the island.
