The unicorn, made of driftwood, fishing net and other bits of rubbish found on Crabby, which lies near the recycling centre, appeared around a month ago.

In the past week it has found company, in the shape of a bird, similarly made out of bits and pieces found on the shore.

The duo are thought to have been crafted as a nod to this year’s Alderney Week theme, which is Myths and Legends.

It will be the event’s 70th anniversary.

Right: A unicorn made from beach debris has in the last week been joined by a bird created in the same way in Alderney’s Crabby Bay.
