‘I’m concerned at the lack of public scrutiny’

Alex Snowdon slammed the deferral and said the amendment should have been thrown out.

‘It felt like this was a wrecking amendment, stopping debate on this important item,' he said.

‘I am concerned it appears the importance of the States chamber is being lost with real business taking place in the Policy & Finance Committee with private and confidential stamped on many items.

‘This raises concerns over the States not being open and transparent, removing public scrutiny with decisions taken on behalf of the public.

‘Just as you think a decision is going to be made on the future of the commission, it is quickly whipped away and hidden at P&F, stopping debate.’
