Harbour sizes limit Condor conventional ferry options

JOURNEY times to Jersey would be too long if Condor switched to conventional ferries, the company's Guernsey director has said.

During recent fast-ferry problems, tourists and self-caterers have said they would prefer a more reliable conventional ferry service if the route could be travelled in about four hours.

But Condor Ferries Guernsey director Ian Milner (pictured) said conventional ferries would not meet islanders' demands.

'Condor Ferries operates a network of services and while it may be possible to travel between Guernsey and Weymouth in around four hours on a conventional ferry, the journey time to Jersey is likely to be in the order of seven hours,' he said.
