ISLANDERS with concerns over the moving of 350,000 tonnes of material from Longue Hougue to the airport will be able to voice their fears to Environment from today.

An application by the project's preferred contractor, Lagan Construction Ltd, will be on show at Frossard House along with an independent environmental impact assessment review.

As well as considering concerns over noise and light pollution, the report details how drivers delivering the material, needed to resurface the runway and extend its end safety areas, will have to make 28,000 trips over two years.

The 13.5-tonne load vehicles will head from Longue Hougue to the Halfway, along Route Militaire, and on to the coast at Vale Church, and on to L'Eree.

They will then turn inland towards the airport.
