Duke of Richmond and Gordon dies aged 87

The Duke of Richmond and Gordon has died following a short illness, a family spokesman has announced.

Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, the 10th Duke of Richmond, died peacefully at Goodwood House, West Sussex, on Friday evening, a statement issued by his family said. He was 87.

A private funeral will be held at Boxgrove Priory, followed by a memorial service.

The Duke and his wife, Duchess Susan Grenville-Gray, had five children, and adopted two more.

His eldest son, the Earl of March and Kinrara, also named Charles Gordon-Lennox, will inherit his late father’s title, becoming the 11th Duke of Richmond.
