:: Twenty nine people have been injured, most of whom police said suffered “flash burns”. NHS England said 29 patients were received by London hospitals. London Ambulance took 19 patients to hospitals, while the others went in themselves. The four hospitals dealing with patients were Imperial, Chelsea and Westminster, Guy’s and St Thomas’ and St George’s. As of 5.30pm Friday, 21 patients were still being treated, although at that stage Guy’s and St Thomas’ were no longer dealing with patients affected by the explosion.

:: Around two hours after the explosion, the Metropolitan Police confirmed they were treating it as a terrorist incident.

:: London Mayor Sadiq Khan told LBC radio “there is a manhunt under way as we speak”. There have been no arrests.

:: Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, the UK’s most senior anti-terror police officer, suggested there may have been more than one person involved, saying that police were “chasing down suspects”.

:: Mr Rowley said on Friday night that they were only aware of one device, and the remnants of that device are being examined by experts.

:: Members of the military have been called in to free up extra police resources, Mr Rowley said.

:: The Islamic State (IS) terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack through its Amaq news agency, according to the US-based Site Intelligence.

:: Scotland Yard and the Prime Minister have rebuked US President Donald Trump over his claim the Parsons Green Tube bomber was “in the sights” of Scotland Yard.

:: Witnesses said they saw a white “builder’s bucket” in a supermarket bag, and pictures online appeared to show a flaming bucket with wires protruding from it inside a plastic carrier bag on the floor of a carriage. Reports suggested the device had a timer.
