The bodies of a husband and wife have been found at separate addresses after what detectives believe to be a murder-suicide.

Officers from West Midlands Police were directed by ambulance colleagues to a property in Linforth Drive, Streetly, near Sutton Coldfield, shortly after midnight after the discovery of a man’s body.

A woman’s body was then found in the early hours of Tuesday at an address in Cofton Park Close, Rednal, Birmingham.

A police spokesman said: “At this early stage it’s understood the woman was murdered before the man took his own life in the garden of the Streetly address.

“Detectives are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths. Forensic post-mortems will take place in due course on the deceased who were both aged in their 30s.

“Both areas have been cordoned off while inquiries continue to establish the circumstances that led to their deaths.”
