Celebrities have been shedding “tears” over the royal wedding.
Naomi Campbell and Tamzin Outhwaite were among those feeling emotional about Harry and Meghan’s big day.
Supermodel Campbell wrote on Twitter: “Glued to the royal wedding has me in tears!! This is so beautiful.”
And she approved of the Most Rev Michael Curry’s dramatic address at the service in St George’s Chapel, writing: “Yes … taking it to church!! Pastor ‘when love is the way’.”
Author JK Rowling tweeted an image of US president Donald Trump’s inauguration, comparing the crowds at both events, and wrote: “Love (greater than) hate”.
Comedy star Miranda Hart said the wedding was the “best TV show I have ever seen”.
“I believe that wedding was not only beautiful, moving, exquisite, fun and real but very important,” she tweeted.
“Because inclusivity, acceptance and change is love in action. And that’s what it was over everything.”
She added: “This wedding is the best TV show I have ever seen. I have cried, cringed, laughed and cried some more and there was one scene that was awesome ‘but just a bit too long’.”
Actor and comedy star Josh Gad wrote: “Watching the Brits watch an American Preacher do his thing in Windsor is giving me life right now.
“It’s like watching Metallica do a concert in the Old Globe.”
Paloma Faith was a fan, writing “so moving”.
Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid wrote: “I may have just been converted to weddings….”
Singer Billy Idol wrote: “Looks like a lovely day in UK for Harry and Meghan’s wedding”, sparking comment from fans on why he did not use “It’s a nice day for a white wedding” from his famous song instead.
Presenter Sue Perkins commended cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason’s “beautiful performance” at the wedding.
EastEnders’ actress Outhwaite wrote on Twitter: “Gotta say it… I had a few tears! #royalwedding.”
Joan Collins, Kim Wilde, Kim Kardashian West and Tom Fletcher also gave the wedding the thumbs up.
Holly Willoughby donned her wedding dress to mark the ceremony and a party to celebrate family birthdays.
