Pensioner killed in lorry collision named by police

A pedestrian knocked down and killed by a lorry has been named by police.

Mary Allan, 83, was hit by the HGV at the St Machar roundabout on King Street in Aberdeen at around 11.40am on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the crash but Ms Allan, who was from the Bridge of Don area of the city, died.

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the collision.

Sergeant Scott Deans said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the woman who has tragically died.

“Our inquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would continue to urge anyone who witnessed what happened but has not yet spoken to the police to please get in touch by calling 101 and quoting reference number 1256 of September 10.”
