Police appeal for CCTV after digger used to steal cash machine from supermarket

A shopfront has been damaged after thieves used a digger to steal a cash machine.

Kent Police said they received a call at 4.50am on Sunday reporting that a JCB digger had been used to remove the dispenser from the Co-op in Hopeville Avenue, Broadstairs.

The cash machine was removed from the building, causing significant damage to the shop front as a result.

The vehicle was later found along a farm track off Hopeville Avenue, along with the cash machine.

Witnesses reported seeing two men leave the scene.

Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
