Police searching for a missing man are to revisit the area where he was last seen one week on from his disappearance.

Marian Pavel, of Huntly in Aberdeenshire, was last seen in the town near the Dean’s shortbread factory at around 7.30pm on Wednesday February 20.

Police Scotland said they have carried out extensive searches in the area of the Steven Road factory but there has been no trace of Mr Pavel, who is Romanian.

The missing 45-year-old is described as being 6ft 2ins, with brown hair shaved at the sides and a ponytail.

He has a scar on his right cheek and was last seen wearing a dark blue pullover, a grey woolly hat, blue jeans and black shoes.

Inspector Matt Smith, who has previously spoken of his growing concern for Mr Pavel’s welfare, said: “It is hoped by revisiting the area where Marian was last seen we will be able to speak to people who were in the area last week and may have seen him.

“I would urge anyone who has any information to speak to any officer or to contact us on 101, using reference number 4314 of 20 February.”
