Image released in search for cyclist who pushed pensioner on to pavement
The 70-year-old man was seriously injured and had to have surgery to fit plates in his arm.
Police are searching for a cyclist who pushed a 70-year-old man on to a pavement, leaving him with serious injuries and needing surgery.
Scotland Yard said the pensioner, who had spent the early afternoon watching the rugby, had made a passing comment when the cyclist almost struck him as he left a pub in Mabledon Place in London’s King’s Cross.
Detective Constable Rob Griffiths, of the Metropolitan Police’s Central North Command Unit, said the cyclist, who was riding without lights, returned and pushed the man to the pavement in an “unnecessary and violent” assault.
The victim suffered a fractured elbow in the incident, which happened at about 5pm on November 10 2018.
The suspect is described as white, approximately 6ft and of medium build, with short hair and stubble.
Dc Griffiths said: “This was an unnecessary and violent incident which left the victim with serious injuries, requiring surgery and permanent plates to be fitted in his arm.
“Despite extensive inquiries, we have been unable to identify the suspect. We are now appealing for the public to help.
“Do you recognise the man in the e-fit? Or were you in the area at the time of the assault? Please call us.”
