In Pictures: World leaders and protesters gather in France as G7 summit begins

French President Emmanuel Macron is hosting the summit beginning later on Saturday.

Donald Trump, Boris Johnson and Angela Merkel are among the leaders who have gathered in Biarritz in southern France for the G7 summit.

Meanwhile, anti-G7 activists from around the world are staging protests in the area calling for action on issues such as climate change, the migrant crisis and gender equality.
