The halls of Windsor Castle were decked with Christmas decorations as the royal residence got into the festive spirit.

Royal Collection Trust staff decorated the castle’s state apartments with shimmering Christmas trees, twinkling lights and a special display marking the 200th anniversary of the births of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

A second 15ft Christmas tree was decorated in the Crimson Drawing Room – one of the most ornate rooms in the castle and only open to visitors during the winter months.
