Man arrested over murder of 78-year-old man in Kensington

A man has been arrested over the murder of a 78-year-old man in London, police have said.

The Metropolitan Police said its officers were called to a disturbance at a property on Longridge Road, Kensington on Sunday at 3.06pm.

They conducted CPR on the victim until the arrival of London Ambulance Service, but despite their efforts, he died at the scene.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene in west London and was taken into custody where he remains.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation for the Metropolitan Police, said: “Our deepest condolences are offered to the family and all those who knew the victim.

“While our investigation remains ongoing, we are not seeking anyone else at this time.”

Police have asked witnesses or anyone who can assist the investigation to call 101 or contact @MetCC on X, formerly Twitter, quoting reference CAD 4152/17Mar.
