Proud of all our nominees
THE Guernsey Press’s Pride of Guernsey Awards on Saturday once again showcased our community at its absolute best.
It is always a feel-good event, featuring heart-warming moments and inspiring stories, as we celebrate the amazing achievements, selfless actions, hard work, kindness and bravery of our fellow islanders.
What better antidote to the doom and gloom which so often dominates the news agenda?
There were more than 40 finalists in 14 different categories and every one of them was a credit to Guernsey.
Among this year’s nominations were those who have saved people’s lives, or made them a bit easier, who have overcome challenges, faced tragedies, who have worked to enhance our island, or who have gone that extra mile to help patients, pupils or customers.
All good deeds, large or small, help to make our island a better place to live.
These awards were first created back in 2016 so that we, with the help of our generous sponsors, could offer some thanks and recognition where it is due to the Bailiwick’s many unsung heroes.
Everyone involved plays a part in helping to make the awards such a success and we are extremely grateful for their support.
It was a truly humbling evening and all those who attended could not help but leave feeling proud of Guernsey, and its many remarkable residents.
