Questions misconstrued
I AM writing in response to the article on page four of the Guernsey Press dated 12 February. The PTA called a meeting for parents to be given an opportunity to ask questions and raise concerns on the Education board's federation proposals. Mr Buckland and Mr Brown kindly agreed to attend on short notice, to answer any questions and deal with any concerns directly.
Many of the matters raised were what any parent at any school would ask when considering a federation with other schools.
There was no suggestion that one school has the monopoly on all the best teaching staff. There are excellent teachers in all the island schools. Many of us have children at different schools.
Comments regarding the teaching of children have been misconstrued.
As parents, we would like all our children to have the best educational opportunities available to them.
We are pleased to see that the Education board has recently issued a list of frequently asked questions, which has provided more clarification.
