How to get birdwatchers flocking here

My only motivation for suggesting the installation of bird-nesting boxes and bird-food tables is to fill hotels in Guernsey and enhance the wealth of the island,

Strategic goal: Over the next four years we make Guernsey into an open aviary where there are a massive number of attractive birds everywhere – not just a few birds. This encourages birdwatching people to visit Guernsey and hence fill the hotels and also enables cruise ship people to walk around looking at birds.

Main actions:

• Many retired people install nesting boxes every year on every tree and every wall in the island.

• Many retired people install bird feeders at many locations in the island.

• All hotels install nesting boxes and food trays all over their properties

• The deputies ensure that nesting boxes and food trays are installed on our States properties.

• Tap and rainwater drinking tables are installed to reduce the use by birds of the pesticide-tainted streams that flow in many areas.

Business sizing to fill our hotels:

• There are over one million birdwatchers in the UK.

• There are over 40 million birdwatchers in the USA.

• There are way over 10 million birdwatchers in Europe.

Business proposal: By encouraging massive growth in the number of birds in the Guernsey open aviary and promoting this by advertising, it becomes a reason for millions of birdwatchers to regularly visit Guernsey from all over the world. There will then be also many birdwatching conferences in Guernsey.

I will be installing five nesting boxes a year plus feeding tables until I pass.
