Nice to see war memorial staying put

RE. THE war memorial – nice to see sense has prevailed and it's going to be left where it is. Two very good letters recently in the Press, one by Vic Froome and one by Mr Furrer, supporting the memorial.

Not so good a reply – a comment from Dave Cherry of the Town Centre Partnership, in which he states 'TCP is a charity'. He also states Jack Honeybill of TCP (chief executive) gets paid £12,000 a year. I thought when working for a charity one does not get paid.

I work for three or four charities and don't get paid by any of them.
