Development plan parking claims wrong

I WRITE in response to your anonymous correspondent (6 August) who refers to me in his letter. He claims that he has read the relevant parts of the new Island Development Plan and that it will only permit one parking space per new dwelling.

Published

However, what the plan actually says is that new dwellings in St Peter Port and St Sampson's main and outer areas will be allowed between one and three spaces depending on the size of the dwelling. In all other parts of the island there will be no limits at all. This is radically different from your correspondent's erroneous interpretation.

It is one thing that people can have factually incorrect and scaremongering claims published in your letters page, it is quite another thing that they are able to do so without even being required or having the courage to put their name to them.

YVONNE BURFORD,

St Saviour's.
