IDP now available at every constables' office

THE planning inspectors' report for the proposed Island Development Plan has now been published and, together with the Planning Authority's response and a map showing the alterations, is now available to be read and digested. For those having trouble reading such a weighty document online, and for those who do not have access to a computer, hard copies are available to view at Frossard House and the Guille-Alles Library we are told. Not good enough Environment and Planning. Parking provision is unacceptable at both venues. Access to these important documents should have been made as easy as possible.

With this in mind, I requested from a senior planning officer that copies should be made available at every constables' office.

This was agreed and now I am pleased to say that islanders can now visit their parish constables' office, during opening hours, in order to view the proposals.

So, anyone reading this, if you care about how your island will look in the future, if you are concerned about the protection of agricultural land, if you are concerned that too much development may take place, then go along and read all about it.

I am sure the constables will assist in explaining things that are unclear and, of course, you could always arrange to meet your deputies at the office during opening hours.
