Excellent bus service should not sell itself so cheaply

ONE way to lessen the tax burden in regard to the bus subsidy would be to make all tickets non-transferable. As the owner of a small unit of visitor accommodation, I was surprised to hear that several guest couples, having set off to purchase two x two day passes at £7.50 each, were advised to buy a Puffin Pass, one between the two of them, at £15 which would then last them the whole week.

They were, of course, delighted with the saving but it would not have spoilt their holiday one jot had they paid £15 each for a Puffin Pass, or, indeed, had there been a week-long 'visitor' pass available at a slightly higher rate.

Guests have been full of compliments for what is becoming an excellent and reliable bus service, but there really is no need to sell it so cheaply to our guests.
