OK, SO this may not take long...

Let’s imagine for a minute, that this correspondent is, and has always been, totally and utterly disappointed with the ‘third world’ treatment that those of us who are unfortunate enough to be residing in this island have to endure on a daily basis, but continue to endure due to family commitments.

Then, out of the blue, something positive happens...

Let’s imagine that this person walks into a local fashion store in an attempt to secure a specific item of clothing in the sales, and finds out that the item preferred is not available in the potential purchaser’s size.

The enthusiastic salesman immediately searches the stock only to reluctantly inform the potential purchaser that there are no more items of that size left in stock.

Well, that’s it... no... moving on... Proprietor suggests pinning item to match the potential buyer’s build and suggests that a tailor on call can help, if the potential buyer approves.

Buyer approves with enthusiasm and pays.

Proprietor of shop suggests to purchaser that the alteration may be available ‘same day’ for the purchaser to wear the item the next day, New Year’s Eve, even though the purchaser understands that due to the time of year, it is not priority at such short notice.

Same day, later...

The proprietor of the shop informs the purchaser that the item has been adjusted and is available for collection and can be worn on New Year’s Eve (next day) – ‘incredible service’.

Thought for 2018 – please think before you purchase online. Some fashion outlets locally are ahead of the game, have established a dedicated local following, and stock the most fantastic range of ladies’ and gent’s fashion items, due obviously to total dedication, impeccably selected staff and total business salesmanship, intelligence and compassion.
