Ecclesiastical Court review is long overdue
HAVING over a period of several years many letters published concerning the Ecclesiastical Court in Guernsey and the vast sums of money manipulated into the hands of the local Church of England I was amazed to read in the Guernsey Press (1 June) that an investigation into whether to end the church of England’s involvement in probate will be published in the next fortnight.
Obviously this has happened because of the interference from Sarah Griffith contacting deputies with whom she is well acquainted (Gavin St Pier).
Could I remind the lady in question that I and many other residents have been writing about this subject for many years.
Recently I forwarded by post a copy of the Human Rights Laws appertaining to local payments to the Church of England in Guernsey, one was sent to Sir Richard Collas and the other to Deputy Gavin St Pier, in the hope that at least one of these gentlemen would condescend to confirm the contents clearly stated we parishioners have a human right not to pay the Church of England money via parish rates. Yet again even facts are not acceptable when the Church of England are in control.
In a previous letter I mentioned the word dangerous – we have on our island unfortunately reached that stage where religion is in charge.
