Fed up with politicians and their ‘visions’

SO HERE we are again. A new political association with yet another ‘vision’ for the island. (‘Ex-Islanders form new association). I for one am fed up to the back teeth with politicians and their visions as they always disappoint. These visions turn out to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors, pipe-dreams, nightmares and the ramblings of fools. Visionary politicians are in my book oxymoronic. I want to hear from would-be deputies with well-thought-out ideas and with concrete plans on how to deliver them. I want deputies who are single-minded enough to see these plans through to fruition and who don’t haver, backtrack, U-turn and shoot off at tangents every five minutes. I want politicians who ‘govern for the many and not the few’ to adopt one of Jeremy’s slogans. That’s Jeremy C. by the way, not Jeremy S. These are the candidates that would get my vote. However I suppose that I’m being naive; that in all probability this is just a pipe dream and I’m due another disappointment.
