Where is hotel going to find premier staff?

WHAT a great idea to build and open a Premier Inn on the island, at least 100 rooms with amazing facilities, making tourism to the island fantastic. Oh, but wait a minute, they have the hotel, the fittings and furnishings, how are they going to be able to open and run the hotel with no staff?

Due to the total mismanagement of the island by the government, who took so long to implement the population control (six years I believe) and the United Kingdom now in the throes of Brexit, very few people are wanting to come and work in the island from Europe, and a large number of people who have been working here have returned home. As I understand it the existing hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops are having real problems finding staff for their businesses, and if another hotel opens staff will move.

Of course the cry will be that there are plenty of unemployed who could fill these roles, after all how much training does a chef, a wine waiter and a waitress need, however given that there are about 200 people unemployed in Guernsey, half of whom are just between work and the other half unable to fufil certain duties due to physical, mental or social issues.

Perhaps the whole issue of population control should go back to the drawing board, with a one-year timeframe, and headed by somebody who actually knows what they are doing, without bringing in an expert consultant who may be an outstanding person but has no idea how an island operates on a day-to-day basis.
