Admiral Park junction just blocking traffic

LAST Wednesday afternoon I caught the 14.45 bus from Town to St Sampson’s. When we got to Salerie Corner the bus stopped because it was on the end of a queue of traffic all the way to the Admiral Park traffic lights.

When I came back 30 minutes later, we passed a queue of traffic from the Admiral Park traffic lights right back to the Weighbridge roundabout.

We don’t need this road coming out from Admiral Park, continually stopping the traffic flow along the coast road.

Filter-in-turn junctions at the Red Lion and Longstore would cope with bringing traffic from that area onto the coast road. There would still be the road in from the Bouet area so that customers could get into Waitrose and B & Q and out again. Block it off and remove the traffic lights – let’s get some sense back into the traffic flow there.

This was a Wednesday afternoon in January, when one would have thought that the island was in a quieter period. No hope Guernsey.

P.S. The road exiting from Admiral Park could stay if the traffic lights were removed and replaced by a filter-in-turn junction, with speed bumps in front of it to slow approaching coastal traffic.
