Let children decide for themselves

THE recent Drag Queen Story Time event is crossing the line between supporting people of like-minded orientation and indoctrinating children. The consequences are far graver than most people realise.

Published

Adults who have made their own lifestyle choices have no right to brainwash children who should be allowed to make their own decisions, as adults, once they fully understand the situation. The propaganda among children will result in the destruction of our culture.

Christianity is the foundation of our society and belief in God and in His teachings form the bedrock of our very being.

Even though church attendances have dwindled over the years, people still believe in the timeless Ten Commandments as God’s perfect law. These values are transmitted from generation to generation through Bible classes and Bible reading.

Gender diversity and fluidity issues do not fit in with our tradition, so Liberate want to eradicate religious education and ‘teach local children about gender diversity, acceptance, love and literacy... and inclusion’. This manipulation of children will teach them this false religion as the new normal, and prevent them from learning about our Creator, about the purpose of Man on Earth, about the family, and about God’s Ten Commandments. As for acceptance, love, understanding, etc., these virtues have been taught for centuries. The Bible, the Book of Life, shows how to deal with the full range of human emotions and problems. Its teachings have been adapted for easy understanding by children, and these are the stories to be read to and discussed with children to help them grow into complete adults who will then be properly equipped to deal with life’s current issues.

Drag Queen Story Time is a library event. Liberate also have very productive and accepting relationships with many of the island’s churches and faith communities, as do many of our members who are LGBTQ and have faith.
