The island is now going to be a ship without a rudder

WELL, this new assembly has already shown its true colours.

Gavin St Pier clearly stated in his mandate that he would once again stand as a candidate for chief minister. The fact that he had a landslide victory showed that he was the man the people wanted.

This new Assembly chose to ignore that and the fact that actually they are there to represent the wishes of the people of the island, not their own personal views. Already they have shown a total disregard for the electorate.

Gavin, thank you for the way you’ve worked for the island over the last four years, turning the financial position around, and working tirelessly during the pandemic. Your calm attitude and reassuring way helped us all through a difficult time. We will miss you being at the helm. I fear the island is now going to be a ship without a rudder.
