Two schools the logical choice plus Sixth Form Centre

WHAT nonsense having ‘numerous surveys and workshops’ with teachers etc. in 2020. Among them are some individuals with self-interest averse to the quality of education of Guernsey’s children. The main genuinely positive criteria for Guernsey’s future secondary and post-16 education should be: 1) The size of the island. 2) The estimated school-age population of the island. The logical conclusion is the two-schools model. For 60-odd years millions of pounds has been wasted on a proliferation of piecemeal inadequate almost ‘parish-size’ schools. It is crazy. We just need two self-sufficient schools, at Les Beaucamps and St Sampson’s, plus Les Varendes Sixth Form Centre built for the future.
