Thank you to festive ‘angel’

CAN WE please through the pages of the Guernsey Press say ‘thank you’ to whoever it is who is leaving pebbles painted with an angel on our front garden wall.

We live in Route de Jerbourg, St Martin’s, and each Christmas since we have lived here have put up a crib in our front garden. We originally put the crib up in our back garden when we lived in St Andrew’s for our grandchildren but when we moved to St Martin’s thought it was a better idea to use the front garden so passers-by and other children could enjoy it as well.

Just over a week before Christmas we found a pebble on our front wall painted with an angel.

We were very touched by this, but could not find out who had left such a lovely gesture.

We therefore left a note to say thank you and that we would put the pebble in the crib on Christmas Eve. Then two days before Christmas Eve we noticed a second angel pebble on the wall and on the 28th December a third appeared.

We still have no idea who to thank and hope that if you are able to publish this letter they might read it and know that we are really very touched by their acts of kindness and generosity very much in keeping with the spirit of Christmas.

We will certainly look after the pebbles so that they can be incorporated into the crib each year.

Thank you, you are yourself ‘an angel’.
