Say goodbye to all petrol lawnmowers
Guernsey’s has the opportunity to take a small step to reduce global pollution.
Significant air pollution devices are petrol lawnmowers, as they have no pollution reduction at all. It is claimed in scientific analysis that one petrol lawnmower has the same pollution as 11 new cars which have catalytic converters.
How about if the younger people of Guernsey just decide never to buy a petrol lawnmower in their lives but instead buy an electric lawnmower?
It is their future so they will have to make it happen.
Should their parents or grandparents own a petrol lawnmower, they could save up and buy them an electric replacement.
There would be no cost to our taxes – no major strategy needed – just a simple tactic that if announced to the world, by the next generation, would enhance the impression of Guernsey, while at the same time contributing a little to pollution reduction in our atmosphere.
