Protest and put an end to Pointues Rocques development

AT THE St Sampson’s Douzaine parish surgery on Saturday, I learned that the architects for the Pointues Rocques development are now attempting a two-pronged attack: not only are they appealing the DPA’s decision on the earlier application for a development in Pointues Rocques, Delancey, (Application number: FULL/2019/1645), but a revised application has also been submitted (Application Number: FULL/2022/0692) for a development which has only cosmetic changes from the earlier proposal.

As a resident of Pointues Rocques I was greatly relieved that the DPA rejected the application, as the location is simply not suitable; but it seems that we must keep protesting, for as long as may be necessary. I urge all residents of Pointues Rocques and the surrounding area who face the ruination of the quality of their lives, and those residents in St Sampson’s who will be affected by increased traffic, and anyone who is concerned by the over-development of the north of the island, to contact the DPA to register a protest. Please note that you have only until this Friday to do so (as the consultation period allowed is a mere 10 days from the publication of the application in the Press on the 19th); and if you have protested before at the previous application you must protest again at the new application, as your earlier protests will not be carried over.

Perhaps if we try hard enough we can put a permanent end to this nonsense.
