Don’t waste yet more money on consultants
I AM horrified to see that the States has committed £200,000 for a corporate tax review.
One would have thought that in voting for our deputies we would expect them to be intelligent, worldly, have some basic understanding of economics and finance and be circumspect in decision making following discussions with interested parties. We have a wealth of knowledge on-island with both experts and business organisations well able to offer far more grounded experience and knowledge of what is best for our island than giving £200,000 which could be far better spent in other areas.
I say to our politicians, please don’t waste yet more money on consultants whose views will be no better than the knowledge of experts willing to offer their experience for nothing.
