Drug campaigner is being made an example of

I WAS reading the headlines in the Guernsey Press [Tuesday 21 June] about the young woman campaigner who has been sent to prison for three years and three months, depriving her twin three year olds of their mother – surely this is against the human rights of the children and the mother. She has not committed a heinous crime, a murder, or paedophilia. She bought cannabis from a man who was growing it organically as a medicine for people who could not access it during lockdown. In Guernsey this is illegal. But, Guernsey is growing it and has several shops selling it here. Now the people who bought the cannabis are able to have a licence to have the cannabis to ease their pain and are grateful to her but she is the one being made an example of.

I wonder why? If Guernsey realises what a good medicine it is, we are growing it so we must know, then why are people still being put in prison? Mr Clarke and his wife made a fortune selling 11kg after growing it and got four years. I wonder why that is?

It’s obvious the young woman was being made an example of and the children have been disregarded. Wake up Guernsey, re-read it and do not allow this to be done in our name here in our island.
