Feasibility of building on old vinery sites needs investigating
IT WAS interesting for me to read the objections to Deputy Steve Falla wanting to explore the feasibility of building on old vinery sites, such as from Devil’s Advocate and others on the Guernsey Press website.
I am presuming they are talking from a position of housing security. If so they cannot fully understand the anxiety and pressure on those who wish to get housed.
I fully agree with Deputy Steve Falla. My wife of many years does not agree with me.
But we reach a compromise. Any site would have a third for housing and two-thirds for nature. There are two sites in my area that would allow the above to be possible. I would request Deputy Steve Falla to follow through and push this idea to a conclusion, meeting me, with any like-minded deputies, to look at the feasibility of his idea in depth on these sites.
I have no clue who own these properties, but they are both road-facing.
