Of course property homes in these areas will cost a lot more to purchase than those in the already overcrowded north of the island. These will not be available for affordable housing.

The statement also says that they want more brownfield sites, than having to use only green spaces. She does indicate that maybe some green areas may be used, especially if they are in local centres.

Deputy Oliver does indicate that those 16 new homes were built on a green field site, by Manor Stores.

Recently, there has been permission to build on sites, but most of them are out of reach for affordable housing.

She also said that there has been a lot of development in local areas, but don’t forget none of these, again, are affordable houses.

The GP11 policy does not work for affordable housing. This committee has failed in the term that they have been in charge, and we look towards the next election. They have let the affordable buyers’ market down.
