Repair potholes before resurfacing good roads

WOULD IT be possible for someone from our traffic department to explain why many thousands (hundreds of) have been spent on once again resurfacing roads that just do not need doing? Why on earth did they do Ruette Braye? I use this road daily and apart from the odd bump or two, it’s been perfectly OK. Maybe a bit of patching here and there. This again causing much disruption for commuters.

Why has so much been spent when there are so many roads that are in a dreadful condition that are being ignored. I could mention dozens, but as a priority surely their immediate resources should be put into repairing roads that are full of potholes? There are some horrendous bits of road that are becoming accessible only by 4x4s! Look at the dreadful section of tarmac outside of M&S along the front, the potholes now getting worse daily just along from Salerie, and the awful bomb crater by the filter at the Bridge – nearly lost a wheel down there today! But no, let’s resurface a road that doesn’t need doing – L’Ancresse Road among many others that did not need doing. That was a classic!

Who decides the road resurfacing schedule? I presume they don’t have a car? There must surely be an inspector that assesses roads that need work?

Ruette Braye surely cannot have been put down as an essential road that needed a new surface?

We now have what must be some of the worst road conditions that I can remember. Please prioritise ones that really need doing and not spending huge amounts on tiny country lanes (Rue des Hougues and many others) come to mind. If we are supposed to be broke then spend the money wisely and at least get the potholes filled.
