We’re losing revenue from marinas because of the noisy vehicles

APROPOS the letter from Dave Marden in Friday 20 September’s Guernsey Press – while we were in Carteret recently we met three couples, in separate boats, all of whom had left Guernsey earlier than intended due to the intolerable noise from vehicles along the Quay behind the Victoria Marina. They all also commented in general how surprised they were at how many noisy vehicles there are in Guernsey.

It is bad enough for us having to put up with these excessively noisy vehicles but utterly stupid for us to lose revenue from the marinas as a result. I wonder how many other boats have left because of this when we, in a couple of days, met three couples, all of whom said they loved Guernsey but would not come back and stay in the Victoria Marina.

It is time something meaningful was done to deal with these inconsiderate riders who don’t care a jot about how this noise adversely affects islanders and visitors alike.
