Open up air travel to companies who can run an airline

IF, LIKE my wife and I, you have been badly affected by the disgraceful services of Aurigny, I suggest that Guernsey residents should now agree that enough is enough and band together to bring this appalling period of disruption at our airport to an end. This really can’t go on. Our lives are being totally disrupted by constant delays and cancellations from an airline that costs the taxpayers millions every year. Aurigny must be killing Guernsey as a holiday destination and even worse, driving businesses away from the island. What are our statesmen doing about it? In truth, nothing.

I call upon all Guernsey residents who are as fed up as I am, to arrange a meeting to discuss this and call time upon Aurigny and those in the government who are responsible for this horrendous waste of public money to open up air travel to companies who are capable of running a competent and reliable airline. Follow Jersey and bring in easyJet and British Airways to give us what this island desperately wants – reliable and cost-effective travel.

This letter is from someone that has had two years of delayed, disrupted and cancelled flights, so much so that ITV Channel Islands did an interview with my wife and I, and a full news report that seems to have been totally ignored by Aurigny and the States. I made several calls to Aurigny prior to the interview and did not even get a return phone call.
