Who is going to be motivated enough to turn out to vote?
WE ALL know that polsters can, and often get it wrong.
So while we wait for the candidates to be unveiled for the 2025 election, I am concerned that we might be in for more political pain.
Many, many people that I have recently spoken to are determined that their contribution to next year’s election is a protest non vote. ‘I will not vote at all’, many say. What could our politicians possibly do to encourage those who have obviously lost all faith to return to the ballot box?
Ever since we followed like sheep and introduced zero-10, we have fallen flat on our face and of course, more recently, our politicians have attempted to bluff the people that GST is the answer.
Much as I am totally anti Aurigny, we must surely have some sympathy with its CEO, who recently explained that our ridiculous housing laws have all but prevented any pilot applications from coming to fruition.
Yes, again – back to our politicians. While they appear to spend so much time debating what in my opinion are nice-to-have policies, they turn their backs on the most urgent and crucial matters.
At this particular time, who is going to be motivated enough to turn out at the ballot box?
Is this the beginning of the end?
