Macedonia’s government has said the country is now officially renamed North Macedonia, under an agreement to normalise relations with Greece that also allows the country to enter Nato.
A government press release said, as of Tuesday, the country is officially called the Republic of North Macedonia.
As of Wednesday, the official said, the new name will be incorporated in official road signs, starting with one on the border with Greece.
The name change resolves a dispute with neighbouring Greece that has gone back decades.
