THERE was some rare local glory as Stuart Le Noury won the annual Church to Church Walk in impressive fashion.

Covering 19.4 miles and all of the island's parish churches en route, 25-year-old Le Noury was first over the finishing line at South Esplanade in a time of 3hr 5min. 54sec., knocking nearly 15min. off his own personal best.

It was a maiden win in the event for Le Noury at his seventh attempt, his previous best being fourth in 2007, while he is only the second Sarnian to win this millennium, Carl Thomson being the other.

Le Noury was nearly a minute clear of joint second Isle of Man pair Vinny Lynch and Jock Waddington, with the local lad having led from start to finish.
