OLLY LANGLOIS brilliantly defended his Whistlers Open title last night on a fantastic night for table tennis' development process.

The Island Games star took out both Alice Loveridge and Phil Ogier in the knockout stages before finally ending the run of 15-year-old Laurence Stacey in the final.

Becks O'Keefe, the GTTA development officer, proudly looked on as the semi-final line-up comprised the veteran Ogier and three teenagers, the youngest of whom was Stacey who on this occasion outshone his twin, Josh, just as talented but who happened to have an off night.

A big part of the reason for that off night was the fact that he came up against an inspired Alex Robinson, just 14, who went all the way to the last eight before the other Stacey exacted a bit of revenge for his sibling.
