ROSS KNELLER has capped a memorable 2011 by being named the GCB player of the year.
The island batsman (pictured) enjoyed a fine debut season with Cobo, helping his new club to the Barclays Wealth Evening League and Dave Fisher Memorial Trophy double by scoring runs throughout the summer.
He was also the most expensive player in the inaugural Clydesdale Bank International GPL in which he played for champions Mourant Ozannes, who paid GCB$8.3m. for his services.
But the highlight was his contribution to Guernsey's successful Pepsi World Cricket League Division Six campaign in Kuala Lumpur, which included sharing an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 48 with Ben Ferbrache against Malaysia in the group stages that secured promotion to Division Five in Singapore in February.
