GUERNSEY are out to retain the Iles de Manches Trophy on home soil when the annual inter-insulars take place at the Island Bowl this weekend.

'We feel we have a strong chance,' said Brian Tostevin, the Guernsey Tenpin Bowling Association president. 'We are hoping for a win again like we did last year.

'Normally, they can be very close matches though. Last year there were only a few points in it.'

But while the Sarnian seniors are the holders of their silverware, the junior Rose Bowl Trophy is currently in Jersey's possession.

The tournament commences tomorrow with the opening ceremony at 7.15 followed by the adult trios events.

Saturday morning commences with the men's singles and the junior trios followed by the women's and junior singles, the men's doubles follow and the day finishes with the women's and junior doubles.

Sunday sees the final events being the women's and men's team events and the junior mixed trios.
