ONE name that has become synonymous with this countdown over the years is Jeremy Frith.

His consistency for performing at the top level of Guernsey cricket is often taken for granted by many these days – unfairly really.

In 2011, he picked up his third consecutive player of the tournament accolade in the World Cricket League, an event in which after winning man of the match in the first couple of games, he was ribbed by his teammates when his score of 82 against Kuwait was not enough to make it three in a row.

All the banter is in jest because everyone knows the importance of Frith to the island side and this year his presence in the Guernsey Press sporting highlights of the year list is not for his WCL exploits, but rather his all-round masterclass in the Marlborough Inter-Insular at the KGV.
