Guernsey produced the comeback of all comebacks to win the World Cricket League Division Six final in Kuala Lumpur and Gareth Le Prevost was one of a handful of Sarnians to witness it.

AT AROUND 3.45pm on Saturday 24 September at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Andy Cornford invited Stuart Le Prevost to join him on a lap of the ground.

With their side floundering at 50-odd for six in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division Six final against Malaysia and soon to become 65 for seven chasing 208, the Guernsey coach wanted a chat with his captain.

The purpose was to emphasise that although the day was not going according to plan, it should not diminish from the week the squad had enjoyed.

They had already achieved their objective of promotion to Division Five thanks to an unbeaten record in the group stage against good opponents in extremely testing conditions and that in itself was a notable feat.
